Living Anachronism

Sat, 17 Oct 2026 11:53:00 -0500

Kramer is an actor and medieval enthusiast doing experimental archaeology with a purpose: what would life in a medieval or fantasy world actually be like, what works, and what looks great on screen but fails in real life. The builds answer it — an Ollivander’s-style wand without a lathe, the best belt for a fantasy adventurer (made without leatherworking), adventurer clothing that doesn’t read as costume. Aimed at actors, writers, and dungeon masters who want realism. 98K subscribers, near-monthly.

Nerdforge

Sat, 17 Oct 2026 11:43:00 -0500

Martina and Hansi are the couple behind Nerdforge, building absurdly ambitious fantasy set pieces: a table with a world inside it, realistic Norse fantasy armor, a six-month Victorian study complete with a hand-built stained-glass door. 3M subscribers, roughly monthly mega-builds. The production value is feature-film level — this is the spectacle end of maker content.

Punished Props Academy

Sat, 17 Oct 2026 11:34:00 -0500

Bill and Brittany Doran build high-end replica props and costumes from games, TV, and film, and the Academy format teaches the craft step by step: foam fabrication, 3D-printed matrix molds for head sculpts, and the machines that make it possible. The mission — “transforming passionate fans into confident, skillful makers” — is backed by books and courses. 789K subscribers; recent uploads include Dragon Con and fresh foam work.

Rachel Maksy

Sat, 17 Oct 2026 11:31:00 -0500

“Being normal is vastly overrated.” Rachel is a maker/cosplayer/floor-troll posting every other Friday: costume builds (a Laika’s Wildwood costume, a Scarecrow Dorothy from a stash bust), thrifted-curtain refashions, folk painting on a thrifted trunk, and cozy autumn painting sessions. 1.57M subscribers. Warm, funny crafting content with cosplay as the anchor craft.
