Mastodon
Federated microblogging; I need to figure out how to actually use it.
I need to figure out how to actually get the best use out of Mastodon. My account is @PhilWheat on mastodon.social.
Mastodon is the original server of the fediverse, run by Mastodon GmbH (~265K active users on mastodon.social alone). Chronological following feeds, hashtags, no algorithmic ranking. The model is different from Twitter/X: you pick a server, follow anyone across the fediverse from it, and moderation happens per-server. Worth a real attempt at the follow/hashtag/list workflow before deciding.
