Feral Historian
Cultural memory through the stories we tell — history and science fiction together.
I often disagree with him, but his thoughts are always well worth listening to.
A small, thoughtful channel arguing that cultural memory — the stories we tell about the past — shapes us more than the strictly accurate facts, and that science fiction, posing as being about someone else’s future, is the purest distillation of who we are. Recent videos: cyberpunk and authority, the machine gun in SF, Heir to the Empire as stand-alone, a 60th-anniversary Star Trek look-back, and a candid “A Hymn Before Battle — I’m Probably Reading it Wrong.” Blanket spoiler warning for the whole channel.
